Salut Canada: The Tourism Corridor

SALUT CANADA: THE TOURISM CORRIDOR

Are you a tourism operator who already offers or wishes to offer services in French? We have an opportunity for you!

Salut Canada (The Francophone Heritage, Culture and Tourism Corridor), an initiative connected to Canada’s 150th anniversary, was developed by RDÉE Canada and its national network, including Horizon TNL.

Salut Canada is a selection of heritage, cultural and tourism experiences and products offering three levels of service in French, according to a Canada-wide classification. The goals of this project are to:

  • Showcase the Francophone and Acadian heritage and culture of each province and territory in Canada

  • Ensure the development of Francophone tourism experiences, products, and services offered by tourism operators in French

  • Promote these tourism experiences and products in the domestic and international French-speaking tourist markets

  • Develop the tourism sector in Canada to generate new economic streams

The Salut Canada website was launched in February 2018 and captures more than 350 tourism experiences and products from the Canadian provinces and territories. Visitors can:

  • Browse the descriptions of tourism experiences and products

  • Add the entries to their personalized favorites list

  • Easily reorder their list to create an entirely customized, chronological itinerary

Favourites interface of corridorcanada.ca.

Thanks to Salut Canada's national classification, visitors can quickly identify the level of French-language service offered at each destination:

Level of service 1 on the Tourist Corridor.
Level of service 2 on the Tourist Corridor.
Level of service 3 on the Tourist Corridor.

This classification system ultimately increases the competitiveness of each destination, for both its tourism experiences and products. It also provides structure to the pan-Canadian Francophone and bilingual tourism industry and meets the needs of tourism operators and their clients.

Our agent will contact you to inform you of the results of this evaluation.

  • 4-Follow-up Assistance
