Immigration TNL’s Mandate

MANDATE

New immigrants coming to Canada tend to migrate towards large urban centers such as Toronto and Montreal for settlement and job searching, despite the fierce level of competition there; most have some level of difficulty securing employment. In general, they are less informed of job opportunities in lesser-known areas, including Newfoundland and Labrador.

Employers in the province often have difficulty filling skilled positions, but do not have the tendency to recruit internationally or even from the pool of newcomers already established in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Under the banner of  ImmigrationTNL,

Horizon TNL addresses the need to promote the mutual benefits that result from professional relationships among newcomers and employers in Newfoundland.

Horizon TNL’s immigration mission is twofold:

  • To provide support to Francophone applicants and newcomers in their immigration process, as well as in their integration into the province's labour market.

  • To raise awareness among Newfoundland and Labrador employers about hiring qualified and bilingual immigrant workers, while offering them personalized support in their recruitment process and promoting retention.
